Currington’s latest single hits number one; more artists announced for Winstock ‘09
Get ready for the party . . . Winstock 2009 artist Billy Currington hit the number one spot on the charts recently with the song “Don’t,” which is the first single off his third album, “A Little Bit of Everything.”
Topping the charts for the third time in his career, Currington debuted “A Little Bit of Everything” Oct. 14 to rave reviews. The disc consists of 12 tracks, five of which Currington had a hand in writing. In the coming months Currington will appear in People Magazine’s popular Country Music Issue and perform on several national television programs. He is also hitting the road this spring, helming a busy tour schedule, including a stop at Winstock 2009 Saturday, June 13.
“This is such an honor for me “Don’t” is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever recorded and it feels so good for country radio and my fans to embrace this song,” Currington said.
Currington debuted in ‘03 with the powerful top 10 hit “Walk A Little Straighter,” followed by the top five smash “I Got A Feelin.’” He went on to duet with Shania Twain on “Party for Two,” and quickly earned notoriety, a devoted fan base, and platinum sales status. His sophomore album, “Doin’ Somethin’ Right,” debuted at number two on the country charts and further delivered hits like “Good Directions” and “Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right,” snagged him his first and second number one singles, the latter of which also won him “Hottest Video of the Year” at the ’06 CMT Music Awards.
Joining Currington at Winstock 2009 will be headliners Brooks & Dunn and Big & Rich with Cowboy Troy. Also hitting the stage over the weekend includes LeAnn Rimes, Heidi Newfield, Bucky Covington, Neal McCoy, and on the Emerging Artists Stage American Idol finalist Kristy Lee Cook.
Recently added to the Winstock line-up includes regional favorite The Daisy Dillman Band. First time Winstock performers, The Daisy Dillman band is no stranger to country music. They are a timeless, authentic, and powerful musical voice, and after 30 years, the band now performs several reunion shows each year for the faithful.
