During Aaron Tippin’s set Friday night at Winstock, he put a bike together on stage and presented it to John Hines of K102. After his show, Tippin explained the tradition behind the bike presentation. At Winstock, he assembled the bike during his hit “Working Man’s Ph.D.”
“It’s just something we do,” he said. “We’ve been doing it for the past few years. We just put together a bike on stage and it’s a donation to Toys for Tots.”
“I just do it when I’m singing a song during the show, put it together, and usually pick out a local radio station, or the Marines, and dedicate the bike to them, so at Christmastime, it makes more people aware of Toys for Tots. We hope to do that right here in Minnesota make more people aware of what they do,” he said.
